Todd Hanna
National Director of Operations

Todd has been with Vironex since its inception in 1993 and has been responsible for the engineering and design of numerous remediation systems, including specialized tooling that has become the industry standard for in situ injection. Todd serves as the Southern CA Regional Manager as well as the National Director of Operations to ensure quality and consistency nationwide.  Recognized for his unique solutions to some of the industry’s most difficult projects, Todd offers countless years of experience on hundreds of Vironex projects across the U.S. – including chemical oxidation, reduction, bioremediation and bioaugmentation, as well as complex direct push projects. Prior to joining Vironex, Todd served in the United States Marine Corps.

Eliot Cooper

Eliot Cooper
National Director of Remediation Support Services

Eliot’s background is seasoned with a wide array of industry perspectives and includes over 30 years of experience in regulatory (EPA), consulting (KPMG), and industry (Amoco Oil). Eliot is a member of the TRIAD Community of Practice with a mission to expedite the adoption of TRIAD based technologies. He served as a team member for the Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council (ITRC) Chemical Oxidation Work Group and participated in development of the current in-situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) document and associated on-line training. He is an advisor on Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP)/Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP) projects involving injection models for high volume applications of reagents including emulsified oils and chemical oxidants.  Eliot was also instrumental in developing the “Guidelines for Subsurface Injection of In-situ Remediation Reagents” recently published by the Los Angeles Water Quality Board.

Eliot is intimately familiar with the design and implementation of Vironex’s Search and Destroy Methodology™, overseeing and integrating MIP data and injection designs to ensure intimate contact of reagents with contaminants. He brings a wealth of delivery and distribution knowledge to Vironex’s clients and is a valuable resource to those requiring assistance with the design of their remediation solutions. Eliot is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a Masters in Civil Engineering.

Dan Caputo

Dan Caputo
National Director of Advanced Site Characterization Services

Dan heads up the high resolution profiling and advanced characterization efforts at Vironex, including membrane interface probe (MIP), hydraulic profiling tool (HPT), electrical conductivity, and other technical profiling tool technologies. Dan’s experience includes over 8 years in the environmental industry, including operation and management of MIP services at Vironex. He has also worked as a project manager at an environmental consulting firm. His skill set, along with his formal education in Chemistry, adds to Vironex’s high resolution subsurface profiling capabilities which are required to meet the challenges of complex sites and the demands of remediation support. He is centrally located in Vironex’s Rocky Mountain Office in Colorado and oversees projects across the country. Dan is a graduate of Central Washington University with a degree in Chemistry.

George Lujan

George Lujan
National Director of Safety

George brings a multifaceted technical and industrial experience base to Vironex. This includes countless years of industrial safety in the areas of commercial aviation, chemical processing, commercial construction and various field services associated with the natural gas gathering and distribution industry. Beyond his formal safety background, George drives the development and implementation of effective and sustainable health and safety programs by mentoring staff, providing safety oversight on all Vironex projects – including periodically working side-by-side with our crews to stay close to real field conditions and risks. George is responsible for the strategic and daily planning, development and direct implementation of a comprehensive health and safety management system over a multi-state area.

Mike Mazzarese

Mike Mazzarese
Mid Atlantic Program Manager

Mike has been involved with in-situ remediation for over 10 years, having worked within the remediation compound and environmental consulting community his entire professional career. Before joining  Vironex, Mike had a very successful tenure at Regenesis, a provider of patented chemistries for both chemical oxidation and bioremediation. A leader by example, Mike provides technical support for many of our East Coast projects both in the design phase as well as field implementation. Mike is a graduate of Penn State University holding an MS degree in Environmental Engineering.

Mike Lewis

Southern California Program Manager

Mike Lewis joins Vironex with nearly 20 years of environmental consulting experience. Mike has been managing and conducting environmental assessment and remediation projects since graduating from California State University, Long Beach in 1993 with a BS in Geology. His professional experience includes retail service station portfolios, industrial properties, and NAVFAC/BRAC facilities such as Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton and Moffett Field. Mike joined Vironex in 2012 to provide project management and design support and to ensure that Vironex continues to be the market leader in site characterization and in situ remediation services.

John McAssey
Northern California Regional Manager

John heads up our Northern California Office and is a founding Regional Manager with over 15 years of experience at Vironex. John has extensive experience managing large soil and groundwater sampling projects, including the MIP/HPT, FLUTe, Waterloo Profiler and Dual Wall sampling. He also oversees all in-situ remediation projects in Northern California and has managed projects at many of the DOD facilities in the Bay area and across the western United States. Prior to joining Vironex, John served in the United States Marine Corps.

Scott Wisher

Scott Wisher, P.G.
Rocky Mountain Regional Manager

Scott heads up the Rocky Mountain Regional Office and has been with Vironex since 2010.  Scott came to Vironex after a nine year tenure as the Geosciences and Remediation Manager with Bureau Veritas, where he managed large-scale investigation and remediation projects throughout the Rocky Mountain region.  Scott managed multiple governmental contracts with State of Colorado and City of Denver agencies which allowed him to work with and design multiple remediation systems including in-situ chemical oxidation and in-situ chemical reduction systems, plus mechanical remediation types including air sparging, soil vapor extraction, and pump and treat.  Scott is a graduate from Indiana University with a degree in Geological Sciences.

Brendan Gerber

Brendan Gerber
Mid Atlantic Regional Manager

Brendan heads up our Mid-Atlantic Regional Office, which also handles projects in the Northeast, Southeast and Midwest. He has been with Vironex since 2001, having transferred from our Los Angeles Office. Brendan was recognized throughout Southern California as a seasoned remediation project manager and headed up a number of complex projects, including large scale potassium and sodium permanganate, activated persulfate, calcium polysulfide, and catalyzed hydrogen peroxide projects. Brendan brings extensive field experience to the East Coast with specific sensitivity to subsurface distribution and performance optimization.

Alan Livadas

Alan Livadas
President

Founding the company in 1993, Alan is responsible for overseeing all national matters. Having started his career in the field, Alan has developed a very strong customer service culture at Vironex as well as a work environment that supports safety, innovation, and product development. “Finding the right people has been the key to our success over the past two decades. The sophistication of Vironex's industry leading In Situ Remediation and Advanced Site Characterization Systems and our associated methodologies such as Search and Destroy™ are testimony to the individuals who make up Team Vironex.” Alan is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University.

Kevin Daney

Kevin Daney
Chief Financial Officer

Kevin supports all Vironex business units by implementing business controls, our customer relationship management system, and accounts payable and receivables. Kevin has been instrumental in providing Vironex with key systems and tools to effectively manage our business and provide for accurate and timely invoices to our clients. Kevin is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a degree in Accounting.

Jose Suarez

Jose Suarez
National Contracts Officer

Jose has been with Vironex since 1995 and oversees all contractual arrangements with our clients. Jose rose through the ranks of Vironex from our Southern California region and brings a wealth of practical understanding and clarity. From field applications to contract discussions. Jose has developed a reputation throughout the industry as a fair and level headed contract administrator, maintaining MSA’s with some of the leading consulting firms in our industry – all while streamlining the contract process for our clients. As a result, Vironex enjoys productive and mutually rewarding business relationships with a full array of environmental consultants, from the largest national and international firms to the smallest regional firms. Prior to joining Vironex, Jose served in the United States Marine Corps.
