“Finding Contaminant Mass To Optimize Remediation”

Vironex has provided direct push services across the U.S. since 1993 and operated our MIP Division since 2000. With the extensive resources and wide array of DPT platforms, Vironex has the capability of deploying the MIP with the deep application Geoprobe 6600, 6620DT, & 540M (Limited Access) rigs. Vironex’s MIP Division provides ECD, PID, and FID data with Soil Conductivity to identify petroleum and chlorinated hydrocarbon source zone contaminant distribution in both the saturated and unsaturated zone, and the extent of downgradient contamination.

Vironex’s unique MIP configuration and services enables the consultant to obtain relative contaminant concentrations, as well as being able to speciate contaminants through a continuous trapping system, and traditional confirmation soil, groundwater , and soil gas sampling.

Vironex assists environmental consultants nationwide in obtaining high definition site characterization data through our MIP System to allow them to obtain a better understanding of contaminant distribution in relation to lithology. This is critical information required to implement successful in-situ remedial programs.

Vironex also has the capability to cost effectively provide 3D imaging of contaminant mass distribution in relation to lithology as well as site landmarks. This capability allows consultants and their clients to gain a better visual perspective of the contaminant distribution.

Field data, images and reports can be transmitted real time from the field directly to the consultant’s desktop, as well as uploaded daily to a secure website where they can be accessed by project stakeholders through the internet.

3D Reporting PID Response vs. Lithology Underlying Site Map

    Benefits Over Traditional Sampling

  • Real time data allows site characterization location decisions to be
made without waiting for soil or groundwater sample analysis.

  • Better vertical delineation: 20 samples per foot vs 1 sample every 5
feet for soil or one sample per monitoring well.

  • Measures total contaminant mass versus just soil, soil vapor, or
       groundwater.

  • Locates contaminant mass interface at unique lithologic zones.

  • Lower halogen detection limits than hand held PID.

  • PID and FID co-detection for petroleum hydrocarbons.

  • Digital output allows for easy mapping of mass vs lithology.

  • No fugitive emission losses.
