Introduction

Vironex promotes a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment for everyone. Safe and healthy conditions do not occur by chance. They are the result of very specific habits and practices. Safety requires a very specific “mind-set” and behavior, as well as adherence to all company policies by every individual member of our team. Vironex has used the guidelines of the Loss Prevention System (LPS) to tailor our V-SAFE Program to our specific functions and activities. This is the essence of Vironex’s V-SAFE Program.

Open, candid and honest communication between the management and employees is critical. Workers who notice hazards or other safety problems, or feel that they need additional training, must notify their supervisor promptly. In addition, anyone who notices unsafe behavior or conditions is personally responsible to immediately speak up to ensure the safety of everyone.

Health and Safety at Vironex are every bit as important as productivity and quality. In fact, they go hand in hand. Safe practices improve productivity and performance in the long term. Conscientiously following safe work habits and adhering to company procedures will ensure that everyone stays safe, healthy, and able to work, play, and enjoy life to its fullest.

Purpose And Goal

The purpose of our V-SAFE Program is to implement a systematic and practical program that instills safe practices, behavior and habits in all Vironex employees for all facets of our day-to-day functions. It is also the purpose of this program to identify and remedy unsafe behavior and practices.

The overall goal of our V-SAFE Program is to eliminate injuries and to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for our employees, our clients and the general public.

Overview And Key Components

Each employee has personal responsibility for his and her own safety, as well as oversight of all other employee’s safety. We intend to make the V-SAFE Program personal and visual for all Vironex employees and our clients. Therefore each Vironex employee will be asked to be a participant and a safety manager for him/herself and all other team members. V-SAFE is integrated up and down the chain of command from the field to the President of the company.

Daily activities include, but are not limited to, pre-trip vehicle inspections and “2 at 2” breaks when the crews shut all the equipment to review with our clients any change of scope, additional activities to complete, anticipated close of work schedule, and / or safety consideration, so that both he and his client are on the “same page” regarding the remaining work activities.

Additional activities include Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and / or Health and Safety Plan (HASP) review during tailgate meetings. Vironex Site Safety Analysis (VSSA) will be conducted weekly in all Regions, either by a Regional Safety Officer, Regional Manager, In-Situ Product Manager, and / or a Vironex Operator. All operators, all equipment and all service categories are reviewed each month and reported. VSSA is an on-site visitation during a working project to do a field evaluation, including operator, PPE, equipment and site safety evaluation, with write-up.

As “near miss” incidents or potentially hazardous scenarios are observed, a Near Miss Report is completed by the Regional Safety Officer. This report is distributed to all regions and is discussed at the monthly regional safety meetings in all offices to proactively alert employees about potential safety hazards

In the event an incident or injury should occur, the incident is reported to the National Safety Officer immediately and under no conditions later than 24 hours of the incident. A thorough Safety Incident Report is submitted by the Regional Safety Officer to the National Safety Officer. The National Safety Officer will initiate a thorough investigation.
